Compare Power for ChatGPT
Use ChatGPT to shop Texas electricity
Connect Compare Power to ChatGPT and ask it to find the cheapest plan for your ZIP code, compare renewable options, or walk you through enrollment. Works through ChatGPT's Developer Mode (individual users) or as an Enterprise connector (for teams).
If you have Developer Mode (ChatGPT Plus or Team)
- Open ChatGPT → Settings → Connectors. If you don't see "Developer Mode" toggle in Settings → Advanced, enable it first.
- Click "Add connector" and choose "Remote MCP server".
- Paste this URL:
https://mcp.comparepower.com/mcp - Authentication: leave unset / "None". Our server is public and read-only.
- Save, then start a new chat. Ask "use Compare Power to find the cheapest 12-month plan in 75201".
For ChatGPT Enterprise / Business admins
Add Compare Power as a workspace-wide connector from the admin console. Your team members can then use it in chats without individual setup. The URL above is all you need — no OAuth required for read-only access.
On Free or Plus without Developer Mode
OpenAI hasn't rolled out custom remote MCP to these tiers yet. For now, open ChatGPT and paste this prompt to use our tools manually: "Visit https://comparepower.com/llms.txt, then help me find Texas electricity plans in 75201." ChatGPT will read our agent-facing content and walk you through options using the public comparepower.com site.
Compare Power is an independent marketplace. We list every Texas retail electric provider — no pay-to-play ranking, no exclusivity. Our commission comes from completed enrollments, not from influencing the comparison.
